Magical Day of Giving
Grand Central Mall
2011 Magical Day of Giving
What is Magical Day of Giving?
This popular holiday fund-raising event will be held on Sunday, November 13 from Noon to 6:00 pm. Like year's past, this event will feature exclusive savings throughout the mall, plus family-oriented activities and holiday entertainment. In addition, tons of door prizes will be awarded.
Is Magical Day of Giving open to the public?
Yes, the mall is open to the general public during the event; however, purchase of a ticket by making a $5 donation to a participating non-profit organization entitles you to receive the exclusive savings offered by mall merchants.
How do I purchase a ticket?
Tickets are available to the general public by local non-profit and charitable organizations in the months leading up to the event. They can also be purchased at the Mall at Guest Services to benefit the Mall’s partner in education, Neale School. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event.
Why is Magical Night of Giving held?
It is Grand Central Mall’s wish to give back to the community that is so good to us all year. 100% of the funds raised through ticket sales will go to local participating charities.
This event also provides a unique chance for people to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and have a lot of fun at the same time. With the many store discounts and specials being offered, shoppers can save money while raising funds for local non-profit and charitable groups.
How do non-profit organizations make money?
The event is a unique fundraising occasion in that it presents an opportunity for local non-profits to benefit by receiving 100% of the funds raised from ticket sales. All participating groups must be a registered 501(c)3 and present proof of this registration. Any qualified non-profit organization, including schools, churches and other groups wishing to become a part of the event, will receive pre-printed tickets from the mall, which its members can sell to the public. There are no start-up costs or fees to the organizations that sell tickets.
Why do shoppers want to buy tickets?
First, all the money generated by ticket sales are donated to the non-profit group selling the tickets. Second, purchase of a ticket also entitles shoppers to receive special offers and discounts from stores that only are available to MAGICAL DAY shoppers that night. Shoppers attending will find a wide variety of family-friendly activities and entertainment, including live musical performances.
Will a lot of stores be open for this event?
All Grand Central Mall retailers will be open during the event and many will offer special discounts, sales, gift-with-purchases, etc., that will only be available during the event.
Can you give us more information about what discounts, sales and offers will be available?
Please see the Sales Section for all offers. Subject to change. Please remember, store offers listed on this site are valid only on Sunday, November 13, 2011 between Noon and 6:00pm.
I don’t want to shop or make a donation. Can I just enter the drawing?
You can enter the drawings by sending a 3 ½ x 5 card complete with your name, address, daytime phone number, date of birth, and email address to: MDOG DRAWING c/o Grand Central Mall PO Box 6001, Vienna, WV 26105. How do we get involved?
Representatives of qualified non-profit organizations interested in becoming a part of the event are encouraged to reserve tickets by calling Katrina Stephens, Marketing Director at Grand Central Mall at 304-485-4465.
If my group participates, do we have to sell a certain number of tickets?
Every organization has different goals and needs so there is no minimum or maximum number of tickets an organization is required to sell. There is no charge to the non-profit for the tickets.
Tickets are available from participating non-profit organizations and at the Mall.
